Bikes are safe to ride, office stats prove

I think those of us in the cycling know have always known that if your bike is fitted correctly and you cycle carefully, you’ll be safe.

But now new research published recently prove it’s safe. In fact, it says that for young men it is safer than driving.

According to the research by a team from the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at University College London (UCL), “official statistics consistently overstate the risks involved with cycling and underestimate those associated with walking and driving – their most eye-catching findings is that cycling is a safer than driving for young men between 17-20 years old.”

So there we have it. We can all cycle safe in the knowledge that it’s safer than driving.
